Initially, Bresnan will complete a loan deal to the Edgbaston based county, subject to ECB clearance. The loan move would allow Bresnan to compete in all matches across any format, except those against his former county. His move will be made permanent at the end of the summer.
On his move, Bresnan said “I’m thrilled to be joining Warwickshire County Cricket Club” adding “I see this move as a great fit. I have still got a strong desire to continuing playing at the top level and to win, so hopefully, I can pass on a bit of my experience to the young players who are coming through.”

Warwickshire sporting director Paul Farbrace on the signing said: “With multiple trophies to his name, Tim is a winner and he knows exactly what it takes to perform and to ultimately succeed at the highest level.”
A Yorkshire lad through and through, Bresnan will represent a different county for the first time in his career. He was also a member of the Yorkshire squad that won back to back County Championships in 2014-2015.
Tim Bresnan can look forward to linking back up with former England teammates Ian Bell and Tim Ambrose at his new county.
Yesterday the ECB announced domestic cricket can begin from August 1st. Counties will now meet over the coming weeks to discuss the format and the shape of the restart.
